On June 24, 2006, Hamill fought Jesse Forbes at “The Ultimate Fighter 3 Finale” on Spike TV and won by TKO. This was the beginning of a strong start in the UFC. After winning four fights in a row, “The Hammer” lost a very controversial split decision to Michael Bisbing at UFC 75 in London, Bisbing’s home turf. Matt’s overall MMA record currently stands at 8-2 including a dominating TKO over Reese Andy at “UFC 92: The Ultimate 2008”, and a “KO of the Night” head kick KO of Mark Munoz at “UFC 96: Jackson vs. Jardine”.
Hamill is currently training for his headline fight against Jon Jones at “The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights Finale” on December 5, 2009 at the Pearl at the Palms in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Why we are fans of “The Hammer”
Besides being an absolute beast at 205, BBO Poker Tables supports “The Hammer” because of a six degree of separation type thing. In college, Matt befriended an energetic lad, Mr. Nathan Montoya, who went on to become a co-founder of the NDPT (National Deaf Poker Tour), the largest deaf poker organization in the US. Through the course of their growth, the NDPT ran into a small but up and coming company, BBO Poker Tables in 2006. Nathan and George, owner of BBO Poker Tables shared an interest in the UFC, and often met up in Vegas to lend support at events. So now as “The Hammer” continues his career through the UFC, BBO Poker Tables is proud to lend our support to our buddy’s buddy, which we consider, our buddy.
Good luck on Dec 5th, time to smash faces.
BBO Poker Tables encourages our visitors to take a second to send “The Hammer” some good vibes. You can send him a quick email here, and we won’t even add you onto our email list!
