Helping my brother with poetry homework over the weekend, I re-learned that a sonnet follows an A,B,A,B rhyming pattern for the first 3 stanzas and ends with a 2 line A,A pattern. So I wrote this while eating lunch at my desk:

“The Nighthawk Sonnet”

The Nighthawk, a table 55 inches round
Piano black gloss looking so sleek
A perfect table you’ve found?
Come take a closer peek.

Don’t like building your chips into stacks?
The Nighthawk is here to help
Check out its CNC cut chip racks
Outlining its removable felt.

A pedestal built from solid oak
The optional dining top will woo
All of the classy poker folk
And corporate offices too!

Last week, George announced to the world (or you could call it facebook) that I would be competing against Laura for the title of Top Office Design. Rules are we each have $200 to redecorate and the facebook fans will vote on who did the better job.

Laura thinks shes gonna win with her craigslist bargain hunting skills but apparently she has never walked down every aisle of target out of boredom or office depot searching for the best way to stretch out a $10 gift card when you have no need for office supplies.

Anyone know where I can buy a clap-on disco ball?

Speaking of Bravo, Thom Filicia from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy may be redecorating a house with some BBO Poker Tables… but more on that later.

Unless you’ve been hibernating, you know that the Become a Fan Giveaway happened and a lucky fan won a Custom Graphics Ultimate Poker Table. It's so hard..to say goodbye..to yesterdaaayyyyEEEEE.

After an impressive 4 year run, we’ve effectively closed out our original BBO Poker Table, the Gen II. While built to withstand the garage warrior and rowdiest of card nights, we felt that the Gen II should be upgraded after all these years. We have created something we feel is superior to the Gen II is performance, and will be unveiling the new table the first week of February.

The final stats on the Gen II:
Units sold total: Approx 800
Updates to design or materials during the product lifespan: 4
Random story: BBO Poker Tables guard dog, Big Red the Bull Terrier was acquired via a mutual benefiting trade for 2 Gen II’s. Good trade all around.

We kicked off our “Become a Fan” Giveaway campaign on January 8th with hopes of giving away a free poker table to some lucky fan.  Things started off slowly as I watched the fan base grow little by little.  Now, after 2 weeks, we have 1000+ fans and have reached the Custom Ultimate Poker Table level!
