So you want to be an Ultimate Fighter?

Hamill Sporting the BBO Patch, but Jones going for the glory!
BBO Poker Tables’ first experience into sponsoring an UFC fighter was a tremendous experience, filled with great people and a roller coaster of emotions. On Dec 5th at the Pearl at the Palms, it was evident that Jon “Bones” Jones truely lived up to buzz about his skill.
The 22yr old phenom settled into a rhythm in the second half of the first round and hit BBO fighter Matt “The Hammer” Hamill with a clean body kick (reference red rib in above picture). With about 1:40 left in the round, Jones got a huge suplex take down and worked into a dominant full mount position. From there it was all about raining down pain. Punches, elbows and forearms proceeded, and as well as Hamill tried to protect himself, it was evident that Bones was beginning to overpower him.
The barrage continued for about a minuted, until Bones landed three downward elbows to the nose area of Hamill, which is an illegal blow in the UFC. Referee Steve Mazagatti stepped in to deduct a point from Bones, at which time he noticed that the illegal blows had opened a deep cut on the nose of the Hammer, forced blood into his eye, imparing his vision.
After deliberating for a few minutes and reviewing the replay, the bout was deemed a DQ for Bones, and a win for Hamill.

The 3 Illegal Downward Elbows Called for a Fight Stoppage
Although the bout ended up being a DQ, Jon “Bones” Jones looked very impressive, and should be on his way to great things in the sport of MMA. What also impressed the crowd was the humble demeanor in which Jones spoke of losing the fight. He was not flipping out and letting his emotions get the best of him, but spoke optimistically about the future.
The Hammer was also very humble in accepting his DQ victory and spoke graciously about his opponent.
Although it was an unexpected ending to the fight, we have to congratulate both fighters - Bones for a great performance, and Hamill for the victory!
BBO Poker Tables has some real cool behind the scenes footage that we are in the process of cutting and polishing for you guys. We will present that as soon as we are finished to show you what goes into sponsoring an UFC fighter!
